A Scary Realization

Today I realized that people will tell you anything to make you buy their products. Yes I'm sure you're thinking that that's not exactly new news but it's still amazing that people will let you pay hundreds of dollars for crap and not really care.

I had a friend who used to work at the place I went into today and she specifically advised me not to purchase said product because it was one of their worst and complaints have been made about it. It however is very expensive and to the naked eyed shopper would be assumed to be the best, this is not the case as I learned. The woman behind the counter didn't hesitate, however, to spend 20 min trying to convince me that it was the best product on the market and that a meer $80 is a steal for the product. Knowing the the real worth of the product, I just smiled and declined the purchase but the girl behind me was not as informed. She ended up spending the "meer $80" on something that was never going to fulfill the expectations that the cashier had given her.

In an economy that is dwindling and a society that is pinching pennies, be careful who you trust about products and their worth because all of those smiley store clerk are just trying to pry those pennies away from oblivious customers. Don't let yourself be one of them.
